Portraits 2020
Portraiture is personal. Whether a self-portrait, a portrait with a sitter, or a portrait from the imagination, all kinds of nuances can be revealed. The artists in this show are delving deep into their personal world to share a glimpse of something more than just outward appearances.
Many thanks to the artists in this show.
Portraits 2020 is an ever evolving exhibition, and submissions are accepted on a on-going basis.

Through the hole in the door

I was listening to a tape of Alice in wonderland and I thought why not draw a picture of what I heard? I didn’t intend to submit it to anything but here it is anyway.
As I listened to a specific part, where Alice consumes the appearing food and drink, I created an image of what I could hear in the description. You may not know, realise or see but I drew as if I was a character from Wonderland peering in at Alice through a crack or keyhole in one of the doors to the room she stands in. From the hole I could see a giant Alice about to eat a normal sized piece of cake- but tiny to Alice.
